The Countermeasures formed around one idea: play the songs that made us fall in love with music in the first place.

What began as a group of fellows wanting to play purely for the love of it quickly evolved into a full-fledged band built on energy, chemistry, and a genuine passion for live performance.

Today, we bring that same spirit to every show—filling rooms with iconic rock and indie tracks, crowd singalongs, and the joyful chaos of a band that truly enjoys what they do. Every gig is personal, and every set is shaped by the people in front of us.

Meet the Band

Chris (Singer)

Chris fronts The Countermeasures with a voice that cuts straight through the room, equal parts grit, warmth, and charisma. He’s the kind of singer who can switch from tender to explosive in a heartbeat, pulling the crowd with him every step of the way. Off-stage he’s the band’s anchor: calm, thoughtful, and quietly hilarious. On-stage, he’s pure electricity. Whether he’s powering through a 90s anthem or delivering a classic rock staple, Chris brings the heart of the band to life.

Stuart (Guitar)

Stuart is the band’s melodic architect, weaving riffs and textures that give The Countermeasures their signature sound. His playing is equal parts precision and instinct, never flashy for the sake of it, always serving the song. He’s obsessed with tone, pedals, and crafting the perfect guitar line (usually after saying, “Just one more take…”). When the lights hit, Stuart delivers with quiet confidence and a touch of mischief. He’s the steady hand behind the big moments.

Steven (Drums)

Steven is the heartbeat of the band, a drummer with groove, feel, and an uncanny ability to make every track land exactly where it should. His playing is tight, punchy, and full of personality, creating the foundation the rest of the band relies on. Off-stage, he’s the comedian, turning rehearsals into therapy sessions with perfectly timed one-liners. On-stage, he’s pure drive and discipline, keeping the whole machine locked in and moving forward.

César (Bass)

César holds down the low end with a style that blends rhythmic control and melodic flair. He’s the bridge between the drums and the guitars, shaping the feel of each song with calm precision. Always listening, always adjusting, always chasing the perfect pocket, he’s the quiet force that keeps the band glued together. Outside of music, César brings strategic thinking and organisation to the chaos—an ideal mix for a gigging band. On-stage, his bass lines do the talking.

Adam (Guitar)

Adam is all about serving the song. As rhythm guitarist, he focuses on tight grooves, strong foundations, and making sure everything sits exactly where it should.

He’s the kind of musician every band needs: steady, supportive, and always listening. His playing gives the rest of the band the freedom to shine while keeping the whole set grounded and cohesive.
